LTLT shares in the grief and outrage at the loss of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the countless other lives that have been lost as the result of white supremacy, racism, and police brutality.
Black Lives Matter.
We believe this is more than just a statement. It’s a call to action to each and every one of us to make sure we uplift and amplify demands for justice and equality.
Segregation is among the primary root causes of ongoing racial injustice in our country. To truly live up to the promises of our nation — a multi-racial democracy where all can flourish — we require real integration in our schools and communities. As Thurgood Marshall said, “unless our children begin to learn together, there is little hope that our people will ever learn to live together.”
While not a silver bullet for ending racism and white supremacy, we believe truly integrated schools will allow us to take major steps toward racial equity, justice, and healing in our society. Now, more than ever, we remain steadfast in our mission to make real integration a reality.
